STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern football team is going back to its roots Saturday as it will hold a preseason showcase and kids' clinic at Memorial Stadium in Savannah. The Eagles played four of their first football games of the modern era in the early 1980s at Memorial Stadium and now return as part of the 40 Years of Modern Football Celebration.
The team will hold an open practice and showcase starting at 10 a.m. at Memorial Stadium in Savannah, Georgia. The stadium is located at 101 John J. Scott Dr. The event is free, as is parking.
Following the conclusion of the practice at approximately;y 11:45 a.m., the team will hold a free Little Eagles Football Clinic with the players and coaches. Parents and guardians are asked to pre-register their kids at
GSEagles.com/LEFC.
GUS and the cheerleaders will be in attendance, as will a ticket representative to answer any questions fans may have.
For students and staff on the Armstrong Campus, a free shuttle bus will be run from the Armstrong Campus to stadium from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Pick on-campus will be at the Sports Center Parking Lot near the Student Union (same as Inter Campus Shuttle).
