Seven Former Eagle Players Report to NFL Camps

STATESBORO - All 32 NFL squads have opened preseason camp, meaning that everyone is now officially beginning preparations for the upcoming 2022 season. They are training for the long road that culminates in Glendale, Arizona, on Feb. 12, 2021 for Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium.

Georgia Southern will once again have a strong presence in the League as seven former Eagle players are in camp. Here's a list of all seven, where their training camp is going on, as well as their preseason schedule.

Darrell Baker Jr., CB
Arizona Cardinals: State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

Game 1: at Cincinnati, Friday, Aug. 12
Game 2: vs. San Francisco 49ers, Sunday, Aug. 22 (NFL Network)
Game 3: at Tennessee, Saturday, Aug. 27
Briefly: Baker Jr. quickly signed as an undrafted free agent following the Draft. He will be in a tough battle for a roster spot, but could enhance his chances by showing out on special teams.

Tyler Bass, K
Buffalo Bills: ADPRO Training Center in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Game 1: vs. Indianapolis, Saturday, Aug. 13 (NFL Network)
Game 2: vs. Baltimore, Sunday, Aug. 21 (FOX)
Game 3: at Carolina, Friday, Aug. 26
Briefly: Bass is firmly entrenched as the Bills' kicker after a pair of standout seasons with the Bills.

Matt Breida, RB
New York Giants: Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Game 1: at New England, Thursday, Aug. 11 (NFL Network)
Game 2: vs. Cincinnati, Saturday, Aug. 20 (NFL Network)
Game 3: at NY Jets, Sunday, Aug. 28 (NFL Network)
Briefly: Breida begins his sixth year in the league with his fourth team as he signed with the Giants in the offseason. Entering training camp, Breida will be the No. 2 running back on the roster behind Saquon Barkley and has a good chance to stay on and help the G-Men.

Raymond Johnson III, DE
Cincinnati Bengals: Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio

Game 1: vs. Arizona, Friday, Aug. 12
Game 2: at New York Giants, Saturday, Aug. 20 (NFL Network)
Game 3: vs. LA Rams, Saturday, Aug. 27 (NFL Network)
Briefly: After making the Giants as an undrafted free agent last year and recording a sack of Tom Brady, Johnson III was signed by the Bengals in July. He will once again have to prove himself in hopes of making the Super Bowl contenders.

Younghoe Koo, K
Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta Falcons Training Facility in Flowery Branch, Ga.

Game 1: at Detroit, Friday, Aug. 12 (NFL Network)
Game 2: at New York Jets, Monday, Aug. 22 (ESPN)
Game 3: vs. Jacksonville, Saturday, Aug. 27 (NFL Network)
Briefly: Koo is firmly entrenched as the Falcons' kicker after a Pro Bowl season in 2020 and another standout season last year.

Jerick McKinnon, RB
Kansas City Chiefs: Missouri Western University in St. Joseph, Mo.

Game 1: at Chicago, Saturday, Aug. 13 (NFL Network)
Game 2: vs. Washington, Saturday, Aug. 20 (NFL Network)
Game 3: vs. Green Bay, Thursday, Aug. 25 (NFL Network)
Briefly: McKinnon was not resigned initially after the season ended, but signed with the Chiefs this summer. A pass-catching back who is elusive in the open field, McKinnon shined for the Chiefs late last year down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Kindle Vildor, CB
Chicago Bears: Halas Hall in Lake Forest, Ill.

Game 1: vs. Kansas City, Saturday, Aug. 13 (NFL Network)
Game 2: at Seattle, Thursday, Aug. 18 (ESPN)
Game 3: at Cleveland, Saturday, Aug. 27
Briefly: Vildor is in Year Three with the Bears and looks to lock up a starting spot once again. He was in and out of the starting lineup last year, but with a new coaching staff, he has a fresh start to win over the staff.

Clubs are allowed to carry a 90-man roster to begin camp. Rosters must be cut down to 85 players by Aug. 16 and 80 players by Aug. 23. Prior to 4 p.m., New York time, on Aug. 30, clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List. Simultaneously with the cut-down to 53, clubs that have players in the categories of Active/Physically Unable to Perform or Active/Non-Football Injury or Illness must select one of the following options: place player on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform or Reserve/Non-Football Injury or Illness, whichever is applicable; request waivers; terminate contract; trade contract; or continue to count the player on the Active List.

This list is believed to be accurate as of July 30, 2022.
