2022 Junior Olympics Information - USA Shooting
STATESBORO – Five student-athletes from the Georgia Southern University rifle team travel to Hillsdale, Michigan, from May 11-15, for the 2022 National Rifle Junior Olympic Championships, hosted by USA Shooting.
Rising seniors
Ashley Judson and
Anna Mayo, along with rising juniors
Erin Ballard,
Kinsley Hannon and
Amy Visconti, will represent Georgia Southern at the event.
Open training begins on Wednesday, May 11, before the championships begin on Thursday, May 12, with a 60-shot qualifying match for both smallbore and air rifle.
On Thursday, Judson is set to shoot in the first air rifle relay on target 2, which is set for 8 a.m. ET, while Visconti is squadded in the second relay on target 46 and will begin at 10 a.m. Mayo is in the fourth relay on target 10, which begins at 2 p.m., and Hannon is in the fifth relay on target 26 at 4 p.m. In smallbore, Hannon will shoot in the first relay on target 72 which starts at 8 a.m. and Ballard will shoot in the second relay on target 60 at 10:30 a.m.
Ballard shoots in the second relay in air rifle on Friday on target 27 at 10 a.m., and Judson shoots in the third air rifle relay on Friday on target 34, which starts at noon. Visconti is in the fourth relay on targets 27 and 44 which starts at 2 p.m. In smallbore, Hannon is in relay one on target 53 at 1 p.m., and Ballard is in relay two on target 70 at 3:30 p.m.
On Saturday in air rifle, Mayo is in the second relay on target 27 at 10 a.m., with Hannon in the third relay on target 23 at noon and Ballard in the fifth relay on target 7 at 4 p.m.
The finals for each discipline are on Sunday, May 15. Sunday's finals will begin at 9 a.m., with the men's smallbore final, which will be followed up by the women's smallbore final at 10:30 a.m. The men's air rifle final is set for 12 p.m., before the event concludes with the women's air rifle final at 1:30 p.m.
