Track and Field Wins GS Spring Classic

The Eagles compete at the Sun Belt Championship May 12-14.
STATESBORO – Shania Parkinson and Scovia Ayikoru each won two events, and the Georgia Southern track and field team won eight overall to finish first at the GS Spring Classic Saturday at Eagle Field.
Parkinson placed first in the hammer throw (45.93m) and first in the shot put (14.09m), while Ayikoru finished first in the 100 (11.90) and first in the 400 hurdles (1:01.55). Nichole Harris won the 1500 (4:48.39), Catherine Hall took first in the 5000 (19:31.44) and Kellyn Posey won the pole vault (2.75m).
Imani Moore won the long jump (5.35m) and took second in the triple jump (11.50m), while Sam Holbrook finished second in the javelin (22.91m) and second in the hammer throw (43.57).
Isabel Clayton finished second in the 5000 (20:08.60) and third in the 1500 (5:23.43), and Madicyn Robinson placed second in the discus (37.97m) and third in the hammer throw (37.78m). MaKenna Hillmer finished second in the 400 hurdles (1:04.28), and Ansley Fullen took third in the 5000 (20:42.48).
