Paige Powers have been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District ®, the organization announced today.
The 2022 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The quartet advances to the Academic All-America® ballot, and first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in December.Â

Bumford has a 3.91 grade point average in management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship/innovation and is a three-time member of the Sun Belt Commissioner's List. The fifth-year senior started all 26 matches she played in, averaging 1.18 kills and 0.83 blocks per set. She reached double-figure kills in six matches this season and was a 2021 first-team All-Sun Belt selection.
Farthing owns a 3.89 grade point average in marketing and has been selected to the Sun Belt Commissioner's List in each of the last two seasons. The junior played in all 27 matches and averaged 2.22 digs per set, reaching double-figure digs 12 times.
Lovett has a 3.63 in marketing and was named to the 2021-22 Sun Belt Commissioner's List. The sophomore played in all 27 matches, ranks 17th nationally and second in the Sun Belt in aces (0.51/set) and leads the conference in digs (4.35/set.)
Powers owns a 3.74 grade point average in public health and was selected to the 2021-22 Sun Belt Commissioner's List. The sophomore played in 28 matches and averaged 2.58 kills per set, reaching double figures in kills 13 times.
Georgia Southern finished the campaign with a 16-12 record, its second consecutive winning season. GS is set to return 14 letterwinners to the 2023 roster.
