Cross Country Finishes 12th at Sun Belt Championship

Three Eagles run personal bests.

FOLEY, Ala. – Catherine Hall, Alondra Reyna-Lopez and Melanie Tribick ran personal bests, and the Georgia Southern cross country team finished 12th at the Sun Belt Championship at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve Friday evening.  

Hall ran the 5K in 19:29.8, Reyna-Lopez posted a time of 20:13.9 and Tribick finished the race in 21:32.7. Katie Ranck paced the Eagles at the league championship race for the second straight season, finishing in 19:11.2.

Molly Jones of Coastal Carolina won the individual championship, and Southern Miss won the team title.

"With certain changes made this week, the team went into the race with the mindset of competing for each other. I saw some great improvements in this race, as well as areas where we can continue to grow. Overall, these girls continue to trust the process, and I'm excited to see the steps we'll continue to take forward as a team."

GS is scheduled to compete in the NCAA Regionals Friday, Nov. 11, in Florence, Alabama.
