1. When did you first start playing sports? What was the first sport you ever played?
I first started playing sports around the age of six. I was one of those kids who played every sport that the church league provided. I played soccer, softball, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics and cheer. But the first sport I played was soccer!
2. How has your involvement in your sport shaped who you are today?
Volleyball has shaped me into a passionate person when it comes to anything. The lessons that volleyball has taught me makes me an all-around better person. This sport has taught me that I can achieve anything that I put my mind to. Also, lessons that I have learned have helped me navigate college and will definitely carry into my life once I graduate. Through this sport I have figured out who I am and who I strive to be.
3. Why do you love being a college athlete?
I love being a college athlete because of the people I am surrounded with everyday. I have been playing volleyball my whole life, it is so rewarding to be blessed with the opportunity to continue my career at the next level. I also love that I get represent a school that I love everyday here at Georgia Southern!
4. Who is someone that inspires you as a woman in sports?
Someone that inspires me as a woman in sports is my Mom. She inspires me because she has done so much for me, she's a terrific role model and I strive to have the drive and hard-working approach she achieves everyday!
5. How do you hope you inspire athletes at Georgia Southern and other young women and girls in sports?
I hope to inspire athletes at Georgia Southern and other young women and girls in sports by radiating positive energy, being a good teammate, playing the game the right way and portraying sportsmanship to others around me!
6. What would be your advice to a young girl who wants to be in your position as a college athlete?
My advice to a young girl who wants to be a college athlete is to be yourself and work hard! Teammates and Coaches love to see who you really are and your personality through the sport you play and your teammates because they become your best friends. Also, never give up, the process can get difficult at times but staying the course and remaining positive will lead to you where you want to be!
