Georgia Southern Track and Field Wraps Up Liberty Invitational on Saturday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Georgia Southern track and field completed the three-day meet in Lynchburg, Virginia on Saturday afternoon.
Scovia Ayikoru finished fourth in the 60-meter dash finals, posting a time of 7.73. Ayikoru followed up that performance with a time of 25.34 in the 200-meter dash. Nichole Harris continued her strong freshman season, finishing third in the 800-meter finals, posting a time of 2:18.88.
Harris also added a 10th place finish in the mile with a sub 5:15 run. Imani Moore posted an 11.48m jump in the triple jump on Saturday, while Samantha Holbrook posted a weight throw of 15.55m.
The Eagles will conclude the 2021 indoor regular season with a meet at the Samford Bulldog Invite. The meet will give the Eagles a feel for the surface before the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships.
Quoting Coach Carter:
"It was good to get back on the road and compete again. We took the trip to the Liberty Invitational to run against some competition that we do not normally see. I am very proud of how our young Eagles responded and competed all weekend long."
