The Seton Hall transfer was the 2018 Big East Freshman of the Year.
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern women's golf coach Emily Kuhfeld announced today that Mia Kness (Venetia, Pennsylvania/Peters/Seton Hall) will join the Eagle roster for 2021-22.
Kness transfers from Seton Hall where she compiled a 75.39 career scoring average with two victories, five top-5 finishes, nine top-10s and 15 career top-20s. She was named the 2018 Big East Freshman of the Year in addition to earning all-conference honors and all-tournament accolades after tying for forth in the Big East Championship.
"We are so excited to have Mia join us for her extra year of eligibility," said Kuhfeld. "She has a proven track record of excellence at Seton Hall and has also impressed us with her calm demeanor, intelligence and kind personality. We have no doubts she will set an impressive legacy in her time here!"
Kness' wins came in the 2017 Brown Bear Invitational and the 2019 William & Mary Intercollegiate. She has shot par or better in 13 career rounds with a low of 65 in the Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invite in 2019.
"I am ecstatic to join the Eagle Family!," said Kness. "I want to thank Coach Kuhfeld and Coach Welker for this exciting opportunity. I can't wait to get to Statesboro to continue the successes this program has set."
The Eagles are set to return to action at the Sun Belt Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, April 18-20.
