
Ashlyn Lovett Named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week

The freshman earns the honor for the second time this season.
NEW ORLEANS – Ashlyn Lovett has been named the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week in a vote by the league's head coaches, the conference announced today.
Lovett earns the honor for the second time this season after averaging 6.50 digs per set and collecting seven assists and two service aces. The freshman recorded 14 digs and four assists against Little Rock and finished with a match-high 25 digs, three assists and two service aces against Arkansas State.
The Eagles continue their four-match homestand this weekend as they host Texas State Friday and UTA Sunday. Friday night's match is Neon Night, which includes a glow stick giveaway, and Sunday's contest is Volloween with $3 tickets for patrons dressed in costumes and a costume contest at halftime. Both schools are making their first appearance in Hanner Fieldhouse since 2018.
