Grace Slader Named Sun Belt Setter of the Week

The Eagles play at Troy and South Alabama this week.

NEW ORLEANS – Grace Slader has been named the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week in a vote by the league's head coaches, the conference announced today.

Slader averaged 10.30 assists and 1.50 digs per set in Georgia's Southern's pair of wins against Georgia State last week. The sophomore matched a career-high with 54 assists on Thursday and recorded six digs, four kills, two blocks and an ace. She followed that up on Saturday with 49 assists, nine digs, two kills, a block and an ace.

Slader is the second Eagle to win a Sun Belt weekly award this season as Ashlyn Lovett was named Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 28.

Winners of eight of their last nine matches, the Eagles travel to Troy Friday and South Alabama Saturday. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+.
