Department planning on having football season this fall
STATESBORO - Plans remain in place for Georgia Southern to have a football season this fall, but the athletics department will give season ticket holders options if the season were altered or canceled.
Georgia Southern will be guided by the medical professionals, the University System of Georgia, the Sun Belt Conference and the NCAA in regards to coming up with a safe plan to re-open our facilities for play.
The deadline for football ticket and parking renewals was April 30 with standard payment plans running through July 31. For those impacted by financial hardship or financial concerns with their season ticket renewals, please call or email the Athletic Ticket Office at Tickets@GeorgiaSouthern.edu or 1 (800) GSU-WINS and a representative will help you with options that are available.
In the event that the football season does not occur, occurs without spectators, or is "materially altered," the opportunity for a full or partial ticket office refund will be made available and communicated as changes to the schedule are announced. In this event, receiving a refund does not cause you to lose your seating location for the 2021 football season provided you meet all stated deadlines and financial commitments for the 2021 season.
Additionally, patrons will have the opportunity to credit their Eagle Fund donation to their 2021 Eagle Fund donation obligation for football season tickets and parking.
"We have created flexible payment plans and programs to ensure that we provide as many opportunities for our passionate fans to continue their tradition of creating the best home-field advantage in the country," said director of athletics Jared Benko. "We look forward to packing Paulson Stadium this fall but realize that in our current climate, some patrons are affected differently than others and we encourage them to reach out to our department representatives if the need arises for assistance or questions."
More details will be released should they become necessary.
