Track Adds In-State Runner to Recruiting Class

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern track and field team added in-state middle distance runner Isabel Ptacek to its 2020 recruiting class.
Ptacek is currently in her senior year at West Forsyth High School where she competes in cross country and track. The Cumming, Georgia, native won the region championship in 2019 in the 800m with a time of 2:17.77. Her best in the 1600m is 5:26 and 19:28 in the XC 5K.
What distance coach Wesley Penberthy said:
"We are very excited about Isabel's work ethic on the track and in the classroom. Isabel is a tremendous athlete that will help strengthen the middle distances. She also possesses very good range between the 800-5K. I look forward to having her on campus next fall."
Ptacek becomes the third member of the 2020 recruiting class set to compete in fall 2020 and spring 2021. All three hail from the Peach State.
