
Scholar-Athletes Recognized For Performance in the Classroom

Over 200 earned 3.0 or higher GPA in Fall 2019 semester
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department recognized 209 scholar-athletes at Thursday night's basketball game against Coastal Carolina. These student-athletes have found a way to balance playbooks and text books, all earning a term grade point average of a 3.0 or higher in the Fall 2019 semester. Among these student-athletes are 70 Dean's List recipients, as well as 59 scholar-athletes who earned a perfect term GPA of 4.0 and were named to the President's List.
Due to competition, the men's basketball and women's basketball, as well as softball and track & field scholar-athletes were not on the court.
Leading these students across the court and congratulating the student-athletes for academic achievement were President Kyle Marrero, Provost Dr. Carl Reiber, Associate Provost for Student Success Dr. Christine Ludowise, Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Chris Geyerman, and Interim Director of Athletics Lisa Sweany.
