The Eagles compete in their final regular-season tournament when they travel to the Mason Rudolph Championship, hosted by Vanderbilt. It's the 18th year of the event, and the Eagles are competing in the tournament for the fifth time. Georgia Southern's best finish came in the fall of 2011, when they placed third. The tournament was played in the fall from 2001-12 and moved to the spring in the 2013-14 season.
The Eagles have finished in the top-6 in 17 of their last 24 tournaments, dating back to the 2016-17 campaign. GS has won three tournaments this season and finished in the top-5 five times.
The Eagles are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate March 24. Wilson Andress tied for 23rd, and Mason Williams tied for 26th.
Steven Fisk was named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week March 28. It's the seventh time in his career and the third time this season that he has earned the honor.
Fisk collected his fifth victory of the season when he earned medalist honors at the Schenkel Invitational March 17. It was the eighth victory of the senior's career, which ties Jodie Mudd (1979-82) for the school record. Fisk shot 70-67-65=202 (-14) to become the fourth Eagle to win the tournament and the first since Scott Wolfes in 2014.
His 65 Sunday helped the Eagles post a team score of 868, which tied the tournament record, equaling Alabama's total shot in the first round in 2012. The Eagles won the team title for just the second time in the 40 years of the Schenkel Invitational.
Fisk will be making his 43rd career start for the Eagles this weekend, while Ben Carr makes his ninth start. Wilson Andress and Mason Williams will be in the lineup for the eighth time this season, and Brett Barron makes his 24th career start.
