SCORECARD

STATESBORO - Rosemary Kramer and Courtney Weekley were honored before their final regular-season home match Saturday at the Shooting Sports Education Center as the Georgia Southern rifle squad took on No. 20 UAB and Wofford in SoCon action. The Eagles bested the Terriers, but fell to nationally ranked Blazers on the day, scoring 4,514 aggregate points.

Kramer picked up her fourth win of the season, posting a 1,157 aggregate, which is tied for the 10th-best in program history. Weekley pushed through adversity for an impressive 585 in air rifle, which was second at the match and posted a 1,141 for the day, fourth-best among all competitors.

Lydia Odlin continued her strong back half of the season, finishing ninth among all shooter with a 1,102 aggregate. Rachel Gray shot smallbore for the Eagles and posted a 539 while Caroline took the air rifle honors and put up a strong 575, one of her top scores of the season.

"I'm so proud of the team. Each one of them battled through some really tough difficulties today. They showed a lot of determination to make it to the end and to show up for each other.  We're going to keep working and leveling up in these final weeks of the season."

Up Next: With the regular season complete, the Eagles turn their attention to the postseason. Up first is the NCAA qualifier next weekend at the Inouye Marksmanship Center at The Citadel. This event, which is held at numerous regional sites around the country, is the final determining factor in which eight teams and the at-large individuals qualify for the NCAA Championships. Georgia Southern will then host the 2019 Southern Conference Rifle Championships on March 2 and 3 at the Shooting Sports Education Center.
