Georgia Southern travels to regionals Nov.15
HAMPTON – The Georgia Southern cross country team placed 10th out of 12 Saturday morning at the Sun Belt Conference Championship at Nash Farm Battlefield Park with 258 points.
Merabu Nagwandala was the Eagles' top finisher at 14th with a time of 18:05.9 in the 5K race.
Other scorers were Carley Braman in 47th (19:16.8), Mattie Harris in 56th (19:53.7), Ellunde Montgomery in 69th (21:00.6) and Kaitlin Rocker in 72nd (21:11.3)
Non-scoring runners included Adriana Ducharme in 74th (21:24.1) and Mckenzie Cromer in 77th (22:12.1).
The Eagles averaged a time of 19:27 in the meet. Arkansas State won the team title with 57 points.
With a sixth-place team finish, Georgia State earned a 2019-20 Georgia Southern vs. Georgia State Rivalry Series point and claimed the overall race winner in Lotte Meyberg (17:11.7). The Eagles still lead the series 2.0-1.0 due to both men's and women's soccer winning a game over the Panthers this season.

"We came up a little short of our goals. I'm very proud of how we battled though the entire race. We will now focus on the regional meet."
