Bumford Named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week

The Eagles travel to UTA and Texas State this weekend.
STATESBORO – The Sun Belt Conference named Baylor Bumford its Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Bumford set a school single-match record with 15 blocks in the Eagles' 3-1 win over Troy Friday night and added two more against South Alabama Saturday to average 2.43 blocks a set for the week.
Her total vs. the Tojans topped the mark of 14, set by Megan Pfeiffer in a five-set match against Charleston Southern in 1995. Bumford added 14 kills in the two matches, averaging two per set, and hit a team high .565 for the week.
Georgia Southern is back in action this week ad the Eagles travel to the Lone Star State to take on UTA (Friday) and Texas State (Saturday) next weekend.
