Squad to take on two top-20 teams
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern rifle squad will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Dahlonega, Georgia, to shoot at North Georgia on Saturday. The Eagles will take on No. 17 UNG and No. 20 UAB at the Hamilton Rifle Range starting at 8 a.m.
Live results are slated to be available through SIUS.
The Eagles are 2-3 on the young season after splitting with UAB and Wofford on Sept. 28 and then beating the Citadel Women, but falling to The Citadel and UAB on Oct. 12 in Charleston.
UNG is ranked 17th in the country with a 4,599 aggregate while UAB is ranked 20th with a 4,556 aggregate average. The Eagles, ranked 24th, average 4,438.
Georgia Southern will have five shooters participating in both the USA Shooting 60-shot 3x20 small bore and 60-shot air rifle disciplines. The top four scores from both disciplines are used to determine the scores for all four squads.
