Sun Belt Media Day Central

NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern football head coach Chad Lunsford, running back Wesley Fields and safety Joshua Moon are in New Orleans representing the Eagles at the annual Sun Belt Conference Football Media Day which takes place Monday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

After arriving earlier today, the players immediately got a taste of the town, sampling some local food and hospitality at the conference's Fais-Do-Do party at Mardi Gras World's Grand Oaks Mansion. Everyone was treated to famous Louisiana seafood and an authentic Zydeco music experience to officially start the weekend. The players hung out with each other, getting to know each other off the field in a relaxed setting. The Sun Belt did a great job with the event, setting the tone for the rest of the visit.

The real action begins Monday as the three will head to the Dome for the annual media day. Georgia Southern's busy schedule begins at 10:15 a.m. (CT) and packed throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Additionally, all three will be on Georgia Southern's Facebook Page (Facebook.com/GSAthletics) for a live chat with Eagle Nation.

Sun Belt Conference Football Media Day will feature unprecedented live coverage with an ESPN3 broadcast from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and all press conferences on YouTube and SunBeltSports.org throughout the entirety of the event.

Beginning with Commissioner Karl Benson's "State of the Conference" address on Monday morning, the Sun Belt will offer wall-to-wall coverage on YouTube and its social media channels for all interview sessions of the 10 football teams and exclusive interviews with special guests in attendance. The two-hour ESPN3 telecast, hosted by Matt Stewart and John Gregory, will include interviews with Commissioner Benson and all 10 football head coaches. Lunsford's ESPN3 interview will be shown at 3:12 p.m. ET.

The group will head back to Statesboro on Tuesday with practice beginning Aug. 3 at Beautiful Eagle Creek.
