Three Eagles Honored For Academics

Kramer, Odlin, Middlebrook earn plaudits for work in classroom

STATESBORO - Three members of the Georgia Southern rifle squad have been honored for their work in the classroom. Rosemary Kramer, Jennifer Middlebrook and Lydia Odlin have all ben recognized by the Southern Conference, as announced Monday by the league.

All three were named to the 2017-18 SoCon Academic Honor Roll for keeping a 3.0 GPA or higher during the past academic year while Kramer and Odlin were named to the 2018 Spring Academic All-Conference squad for maintaining a 3.3 GPA or higher during the spring semester.

Kramer, carried a 3.32 GPA in biology for the spring while Odlin carried a 3.50 GPA in biology for the spring. For the year, Kramer carried a 3.26, Odlin a 3.72 and Middlebrook a 3.03 in biology. Middlebrook graduated from GS in May while Kramer and Odlin will return to the squad this upcoming season.

Additionally, Odlin and Kramer were named Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholastic All-Americans for maintaining a 3.2 GPA or higher for the Fall 2017 semester.

The Eagle rifle squad will open its 2018-19 campaign on Sept. 30 with a match in Dahlonega, Georgia, against North Georgia and Morehead State and will host the 2019 Southern Conference Championships March 2 and 3 at the Shooting Sports Education Center in Statesboro.
