Laura Thomas Resigns As Georgia Southern Head Swimming & Diving Coach

National search to commence for new leader of the program
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein has announced the resignation of head swimming & diving coach Laura Thomas, effective June 30, 2018. Thomas was hired in June of 2016 and led the Eagles to a fourth-place finish at the CCSA Championships in both of her seasons at the helm.
"This afternoon, I accepted Laura Thomas' resignation as the head swimming & diving coach at Georgia Southern," Kleinlein said. "I would like to thank Laura for her service to the University these past two seasons. Coach Thomas developed a program where the ladies performed in the pool and excelled in the classroom. We wish her well in her future endeavors and now turn our attention to filling this vacancy."
A search for the next head coach will be conducted by the athletic department. The department will not make further comments on the search for the next head coach until the process is complete.
Georgia Southern's season concluded last weekend with the CCSA Championships in Athens, Georgia.
