Senior honored for efforts in air rifle the first month
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern Rifle student-athlete Rosemary Kramer has been named the first Southern Conference Shooter of the Month award of the 2018-19 campaign for her efforts in air rifle.
Kramer set the school record in air rifle on Sept. 30 with a 595, then broke it on Oct. 20 with a 597 and then broke that record again a week later with a 598. That 598 was the highest in the country for that weekend, even topping Olympic Gold Medalist Ginny Thrasher of West Virginia by a point. Kramer is currently averaging 595.250 through four events this season.
Kramer was a first-team all-conference selection last year after finishing second in the air rifle at the SoCon meet and was voted the SoCon Air Rifle Athlete of the Year.
The Eagles will head to Kentucky this weekend to take on No. 16 Morehead State on Saturday.
