NASSAU, Bahamas –
Montae Glenn posted his 10th career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Georgia Southern to an 80-70 men's basketball win over Florida Atlantic in the first round of the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase Friday evening in Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium.
Eagles of the Game
Quan Jackson filled the stat sheet once again with a team-high 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, and
Ike Smith tallied 13 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Key moment
Georgia Southern (3-0) scored 10 straight points on FAU (2-1) over a 2:24 span late in the game that increased a four-point cushion to 76-62. Smith had five during the run and capped it with a pretty 3-point play with 2:38 remaining.
Stat of the Game
The Eagles held FAU to 35 percent shooting for the game and forced 16 turnovers. GS shot 50 percent in the contest and hit 18-of-32 in the second half.
