How To: Go About Parking
9/8/2015 4:02:00 PM | Football, Athletic Foundation
In a series of "how tos" leading up to the first game of the season, we explain how fans can get their cars parked to enjoy an afternoon of tailgating and getting to the stadium early to make Paulson Stadium an intimidating environment for Western Michigan.
Rule #1: GET IN YOUR SEATS EARLY. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and we need you in your seats and making noise when the team takes the field. Come early, tailgate and enjoy a September day in Statesboro.
Rule #2: WEAR BLUE! It's Paint the Town Blue Week in Statesboro and we need a sea of blue sweeping over Paulson Stadium to show everyone what Eagle Nation is all about.
DONOR PARKING
• Parking at the Allen E. Paulson Stadium and the Recreation Activity Center (RAC) are only available for donors who purchase spots
• These lots will open at 8 a.m.
• Each donor who purchased parking received a specific parking pass for each game. That game's parking pass must be displayed in order to enter the lots.
• Enter Paulson Stadium parking via
Malecki Drive off of Akins Boulevard or; off of Lanier Drive
• To alleviate traffic, parking attendants will move inwards this year. Therefore, those parking in the Gold Lot must use the second entrance into the lot.
• Malecki Drive off of Chandler Road is exit only all day
IMPORTANT: The parking pass displayed in each vehicle MUST match the spot it is parked in. If not, the vehicle may be towed. Additionally, there is now a pass for each game this season, so please make sure you have the correct game's parking pass for each game.
FREE PARKING
• Free parking is available at Russell Union, Performing Arts Center (PAC), and the Ceramic & Sculpture Building
• These lots will open at 8 a.m.
• These spaces are first-come, first-served
TRANSPORTATION
• Gameday shuttles, all of which are handicap accessible, begin running 2.5 hours prior to kickoff and stop running an hour after the conclusion of the game.
• The Gameday Shuttle makes four stops:
Allen E. Paulson Stadium, off of Malecki Drive near Gate 14.
• Across from the Recreation Activities Center (RAC) on Akins Boulevard.
• The Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the corner of Forest Drive and Plant Drive. (Free Parking)
• In front of Fielding D. Russell Union off of Forest Drive (Free Parking)
AND JUST SO YOU KNOW ...
• Golf carts can not be parked in front of the stadium.
• Malecki will be temporarily closed while band enters approximately 45-50 minutes prior to kick off
TAILGATE RECYCLING
• Keep the Georgia Southern campus green by recycling. Together, we can defer more than 1,000 pounds of recycling from the landfill during each home game.
• Starting three hours before each game, the Center for Sustainability's True Blue Recycle Crew will distribute recycling bags to each tailgate site to collect aluminum cans/bottles and plastic beverage bottles. For your safety, please place glass bottles in the yellow bins only.
Please do not place plastic cups or other contaminants into the recycling bags.
