Georgia Southern Cheer Team Celebrates National Title at Dr. Keel's House

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern University President Dr. Brooks Keel hosted the Eagle cheer team in his home Friday afternoon to celebrate their recent national championship.
Keel and First Lady Dr. Tammie Schalue started the tradition of holding a reception for Georgia Southern's championship winning teams a couple years ago. The Georgia Southern cheer team won its fifth national championship and second in a row in the Intermediate All-Girl Division at the National Cheerleaders Association National Championship.
The Eagle cheer team led both days en route to its second consecutive national. The Eagles were led by captains Chloe Cotter and Emily Harwood and seniors Ashlee Newsome, Kate Dixon and Katherine Daniel.
