Middlebrook Posts Career Best at SEARC 5

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Jennifer Middlebrook finished second on the team and set a new career best in air rifle as the Georgia Southern women's rifle team completed SEARC 5.
The Eagles, led by Emmy Johnson in air rifle, shot a 2198 and posted a 1999 in small bore for a composite score of 4197.
Johnson shot a 554 in the air rifle discipline and was followed closely behind by Middlebrook, who shot a career best 553. Tori Lewis added a 550, while Becky Collier and Kathryn Youngblood both chipped in with scores of 541.
In small bore, Youngblood shot a career-best 520 to lead the team. Ale Shortridge was the second Eagle over 500 and shot a 508 on the day. Johnson added a 495 to go along with her air rifle score for a 1049 aggregate on the day.
The Eagles return to competition at SEARC 6 on Feb. 7.
