STATESBORO, Ga. - The first of two Thursday football home games for the Georgia Southern Eagles features the annual Blue Out game, Georgia Southern University's Family Weekend and giveaways.
Blue Out
The Georgia Southern vs. Appalachian State football game on Sept. 25 will be the annual Blue Out game. All fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game and show their True Blue Spirit on TV as the Eagles play the first of two home ESPNU games. Fans can also purchase the official Blue Out t-shirt at fanzone.gseagles.com. The shirt costs just $11.99, and the design was selected by the Georgia Southern football senior class.
Family Weekend
Georgia Southern University's Family Weekend is Sept. 26-28 and starts Thursday night with the Georgia Southern vs. Appalachian State football game at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. The weekend continues on Friday with a silent auction, an outdoor movie and a fraternity and sorority life reception. A host of events continues throughout the weekend and is a great opportunity for parents to spend the weekend on campus with their GSU student. Parents can purchase tickets to the game online at gseagles.com or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-GSU-WINS.
Giveaways
Fans and students are encouraged to get to their seats early to receive one of two giveaways. The first 5,000 fans entering the gates will receive a Georgia Southern Eagle Head Sign. Students sitting in the lower level of the north stands will find one of 8,000 blue towels provided by University Village at Southern and 111 South.
