Men's Tennis Earns a Victory Over Wofford, 4-3

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Georgia Southern men's tennis earned a 4-3 victory today in their match against the Wofford Terriers. The Eagles improve their record to 2-9 overall, and 1-1 in the SoCon. Wofford's record drops to 5-6 overall and 0-1 in conference.
The Terriers took the first doubles win, defeating Kyle Hoffman and Rafael Racy 8-3. Oliver Webb and Christian Kerrigan fell to Walker Heffron and Haris Poric 8-3. Last to finish in the number one spot, Nico DeGroof and Marco Osorio were defeated by Rob Galloway and Trevor Gotkowski, 8-7 (7-5).
In singles play, Nico DeGroof lost to Trevor Gotkowski, 6-0, 6-1, giving Wofford the overall lead. The Eagles were soon able to comeback with wins from seniors Marco Osorio and Oliver Webb. Rafael Racy gave GSU the advantage by beating Parks Thompson, 6-4, 6-4. Albert Codina Sala fell in the number two spot to Haris Poric, but Kyle Hoffman secured the victory for the Eagles by conquering Walker Heffron, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

The Eagles return to action on Friday, March 7th, at the Wallis Tennis Center to face Davidson College at 2:30pm.
