STATESBORO, Ga. – With winter workouts winding down and spring- (and summer-like) temperatures invading the 'Boro, it will be just a matter of time until the Georgia Southern Football team is back on the practice fields. The Blue-White Spring game, set for April 12th, will give Eagle Nation its football fix until the season opens August 30th at N.C. State.
1 – National outlet 247sports.com selected Georgia Southern's 2014 signing class as the best in the Sun Belt Conference. Eighteen new Eagles have committed to attend the University and play football for Georgia Southern since signing day with three who enrolled at mid-year to bring the total to 21.
5 – Georgia Southern faces five of its 2014 opponents for the very first time: Georgia State, Georgia Tech, New Mexico State, N.C. State and South Alabama – all in games played on the road.
7 – The Eagles will play seven games in their home state this year beginning with the opener at Paulson Stadium against Savannah State on September 6th, a September 13th contest at Georgia Tech, and first Sun Belt Conference home game versus Appalachian State September 27th just in the first month. 10 – Coach Willie Fritz will be one of the featured speakers as part of the 10 Coaches' Caravan dates set for this spring. 61 – To date, sixty-one percent of Eagle season ticket holders have renewed their seats for the upcoming 2014 campaign, Georgia Southern's first in the FBS and Sun Belt Conference.
