STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics added six new members to its Hall of Fame at a luncheon at Forest Heights Country Club on Saturday.

Tom Kleinlein announced the class in July and inducted Lindsey Grossman Blom (women's soccer), Wayne Murphy (supporter), Dr. Patrick Spurgeon (football assistant coach), Martina Veiglova-Mamuti (volleyball), Danny Warbutton (gymnastics) and Nay Young (football) into the Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame.
The six additions bring the total number of former coaches, student-athletes, supporters and administrators in the Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame to 140.

LINDSEY GROSSMAN BLOM, Women's Soccer, 1995-98Lindsey Grossman Blom started every game during her four years at Georgia Southern and was a two-time first-team All-Southern Conference selection. Co-captain of the Eagles in 1997 and 1998, she earned first-team Academic All-America honors in 1998 and was named the 1999 Georgia Southern Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in psychology. Following a two-year professional career with the Jacksonville Jade of the W-League, the highest level of women's soccer, Blom went on to earn two master's degrees and doctorate degree in education from West Virginia in 2005. She served as the head coach of three club state championship teams in West Virginia and two club state championship teams in Mississippi and wrote a soccer coaching book, "Survival Guide for Coaching Youth Soccer."
WAYNE MURPHY, SupporterA supporter of Georgia Southern since 1973, Wayne Murphy served on the selection committee that led to the selection of Erk Russell as the football program's first head coach. An active member of the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation, he is affectionately known as 'Mr. Georgia Southern.' He is a member of the Savannah Quarterback Club and St. Patrick's Day Committee and has worked on the Schenkel Golf Tournament and assisted with the organization of the 2001 Georgia Southern vs. Georgia basketball game in Savannah. Murphy is a member of the University's 1906 Society, a board member for the Ronald McDonald House and a member of Leadership Board of the American Cancer Society of the Georgia Legislative Committee.
DR. PATRICK SPURGEON, Football assistant coach, 1982-1990Dr. Patrick Spurgeon was a full-time English Literature professor and one of the first assistant coaches hired by Erk Russell. He coached with Erk throughout his tenure as well as a year to help with transition to Coach Tim Stowers. Spurgeon coached kickers and punters and acted as lead scout for Coach Russell for four of Georgia Southern's six National Championships. He joined the staff at Youngstown State, where he won four more National Championships under coach Jim Tressel. He then served as a volunteer coach under Tressel at Ohio State when the Buckeyes won a National Championship, giving him nine during his collegiate coaching career.
MARTINA VEIGLOVA-MAMUTI, Volleyball, 2001-03Martina Veiglova-Mamuti was a three-time All-Southern Conference selection and named SoCon Female Athlete of the Year for 2003-04. She was a two-time SoCon Player of the Year selection and earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the 2003 SoCon Tournament after leading the Eagles to the title. She earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association as a senior. Veiglova-Mamuti still owns three of the top-5 places on Georgia Southern's single-season kills list, including the top spot. She ranks second at Georgia Southern in career kills, first in hitting percentage, third in aces and fifth in digs. She was named to the SoCon's Team of Women to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Women's Championships in 2008.
DANNY WARBUTTON, GymnasticsDanny Warbutton was a four-time Georgia state champion, four-time Southern Intercollegiate Gymnastics champion and a three-time All-American. He was the 10th-place all-around finisher at the 1972 Olympic Trials and was selected to the United States team in 1977 to tour with Nadia Comaneci and the Romanian gymnasts. He worked as an international coach with U.S. teams in South Africa, East Germany and England and was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Warbutton coached 11 elite gymnasts, 45 national competitors and 10 state championship teams in Pennsylvania, and more than 50 of his gymnasts went on to college on full scholarships. He served as chairman of the Pennsylvania Age Group and chairman of Regional Elite Coach of Coaches. He also served on the Foreign Relations Committee, International and Olympic Team Selection and the National Coaching Staff and was the first recipient of the Pennsylvania Lifetime Achievement Award in 1988. Sadly, Warbutton passed away August 4, 2014, after battling cancer.
NAY YOUNG, Football, 1984-87A four-year starter at cornerback, Nay Young was a member of the 1985 and 1986 I-AA National Championship teams. He is the school's career record holder in interceptions with 16, and his 32 career pass breakups rank third on the Georgia Southern charts. He finished the 1985 season ranked ninth nationally, averaging 11.2 yards per punt return, and ranks fourth on the Georgia Southern single-season chart for kick-off return yards with 715. In 1985, Young recorded five interceptions in four playoff games, including two against Middle Tennessee State in the quarterfinals to help secure a win. He finished the campaign with 65 tackles, including 22 in the playoffs. Young made 64 tackles, including 55 solo stops, to go along with four interceptions in 1986. He added 48 tackles and a team-high seven pass breakups as a senior in 1987 and was signed by the New Orleans Saints in 1988.
