Former Student-Athletes,

Georgia Southern Athletics has started a new all sports alumni program called the GATA Club. The goal of this program is to keep all of our former student-athletes engaged with their former teammates and Georgia Southern Athletics.  Any player, coach, manager or athletic trainer who participated in at least one full season of their respective sport is an eligible member of the GATA Club.

We have had great success over the years with Eagle Football Alumni Association (EFAA) and have seen the benefits that the EFAA has had on our former student-athletes, our current student-athletes and Georgia Southern as a whole. Our mission with this new program is to provide that same type of alumni program for all of our sports.

Our first event for the GATA Club will be the weekend of November 8-10. The Georgia Southern football team will play Western Carolina on the 9th in the annual homecoming game and the men's basketball team will open its season on the 8th against Columbia International.  We will be providing all eligible alumni who RSVP by October 21, 2013 with a complimentary ticket to the football game, two complimentary tickets to the Friday night basketball game, entrance into the Hanner hospitality room on Friday night and a Homecoming tailgate before the football game on Saturday.

The Homecoming tailgate will open at noon and will be located in the EFAA parking spots right in front of the Erk Russell Statue at Paulson Stadium.  Food and drinks will be provided.

I invite each of our former student-athletes to come to Statesboro for that weekend and reunite with their former teammates and to get involved with Georgia Southern Athletics.  Please RSVP by October 21, 2013 by emailing GATAclub@georgiasouthern.edu or calling the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation at 912.478.5520 and encourage your former teammates to do the same.
