STATESBORO, Ga. – "By the Numbers" spotlights some of the interesting statistics, rankings and milestones as they relate to the Georgia Southern Football program each week.

With his touchdown-saving interception in the endzone Saturday, junior safety Deion Stanley now has three interceptions this year, one in each of the first three games.

Georgia Southern is currently averaging more than 540 yards of total offense a game and gaining 7.5 yards on each offensive play. The last time the Eagles recorded a per-game average above 500 for total offense was in 1999, the same year their per-play average was above seven (7.6).

Senior linebacker Kyle Oehlbeck tied his career-best total in tackles Saturday with 11 with seven solo and four assisted tackles on the night. The seven solo tackles topped his previous career best. Oehlbeck was also credited for a tackle for loss for six yards.

Number of overtime games the Eagles have played in their history, including two triple-overtime victories against Southern Conference opponents, Chattanooga last year and The Citadel in 2008. Georgia Southern was involved in an NCAA-record four overtime games during the 2008 season.

Torrance Hunt, a graduate running back for the Eagles, has worn the number 34 since age six. The Durham, N.C., native played wide receiver, running back and defensive back in three years at East Carolina before arriving in Statesboro for his final year of eligibility. Hunt has scored a touchdown in each of his three games at Georgia Southern and had a career-long 56-yard reception vs. the Red Flash.

Georgia Southern has won 79 percent of its home games played at Allen E. Paulson Stadium in the month of September. In six previous seasons, the Eagles have posted three wins during the month, including 2012 when they won all three of their games played at home during September.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Kevin Ellison posted his first career 100-yard plus rushing game with 102 yards last Saturday. His total included a career-long run of 53 yards to set up the Eagles' first touchdown. The Cornelia, Ga., native was named the SoCon Freshman of the Week for his efforts.

Georgia Southern is averaging 407.7 rushing yards per game which would rank as the best in NCAA Division I, ahead of Navy (398.0) in FBS and with nearly 100 yards more per game over Sam Houston State at 309.8 yards per game in FCS.

McKinnon posted his 12th career game with 100 or more yards rushing with 114 and currently stands at 3,092 for eighth place. McKinnon, who also played on defense during 2011, is just 120 yards behind Eagle great Tracy Ham on this career list.

Cost to rent temporary lights for the September 21, 1989, ESPN nationally televised game at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. In only the second-ever Thursday night college football game broadcast at that time, the game pitted Boots Donnelly's Middle Tennessee State team against Erk Russell's Eagles. The game, played 180 miles from the eye of Hurricane Hugo, became known as the "Hugo Bowl."
