Eagle Nation,
The 2013 Georgia Southern football team's senior class are really excited for the upcoming season. Words can't explain what this final year means to us. For the past three years, we have been a part of a great effort by our coaches and players to return the program to its winning tradition and, as a senior group, we want to leave a legacy in our program's history.
The move to the FBS is a great opportunity for Georgia Southern University and the football program to grow and expand. Looking from the inside out, it's a step forward for everybody associated with the university.
Even though we cannot play in the FCS Playoffs this season, none of our regular season goals have changed. Our goal is to win every game that we play and go 8-0 in the Southern Conference. The Paulson Stadium crowd will play a big part in that.
When we come out to Allen E. Paulson Stadium on Saturdays and hear the crowd yelling the "GEORGIA...SOUTHERN" chant, it gives us goosebumps. It's motivating for us when we hear the booming sounds of the crowd from side to side in the stadium. I urge you to help us pack Paulson Stadium at each of our six Saturday home games.
A sold out crowd in Paulson Stadium for every one of our home games would mean a lot to us. Getting that support every week, Saturday after Saturday, and knowing that the fans are behind us one hundred percent would make the season that much more memorable for our entire team. We only have eleven games this season and I know that together, our team and Eagle Nation, can make it one to remember. Let's make the most of every Saturday this fall.
