Georgia Southern Football Camps Set for June

STATESBORO, Ga. – Six Georgia Southern Football camps are set with Offensive Line Camp, Option Team Camp, Passing Camp and three one-day camps during June. The first camp, a one-day Option U camp at Georgia Southern on June 15th, kicks off the full schedule for the week of camps. June 17th is the start date for the Offensive Line, Option Team and Passing camps and the week ends with two single-session camps held in Atlanta (June 21) and Macon (June 22).

With instruction from the Eagle coaching staff that produced the highest rushing average in NCAA Division I, the Offensive Line camp is set for Monday-Tuesday, June 17-18th, on the Georgia Southern campus and is open to ninth-12th graders. The Offensive Line camp will cover blocking techniques and schemes and fundamentals. Option Team camp runs on the same dates, Monday-Tuesday, June 17-18, and addresses the fundamentals and plays of the option offense. Passing camp provides opportunities for competition in the seven-on-seven format and continues for two additional days, through June 20th. For campers who opt to stay overnight, the cost is $250 and $215 for day campers. A non-refundable $100 deposit must accompany each application.
Rising 11th and 12th graders are invited to join the Eagle Football Coaching Staff for any of the Option U one-day football camps in Statesboro (June 15th), Atlanta (June 21) and Macon (June 22). The early registration cost for one-day camps is $40 and is available until June 10th. After June 10th, the one-day camp registration is $50. The Atlanta-area camp will be held at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School (805 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NW) and the Macon-area camp at First Presbyterian Day School (5671 Calvin Drive). Check in for the one-day camps is at 12 p.m. and camp concludes at 5 p.m.
Both the Offensive Line and Team camps run from Monday, June 17th (8 a.m. check in) through Tuesday, June 18th at 5 p.m. The Passing Camp begins Monday, June 17th and concludes at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th. Team registrations for the Passing Camp are accepted by calling 912-478-5522. Arrangements for campers who need to stay in the residence halls the night prior to camp can be made for an additional $35 with notification by June 10.
Campers should bring tennis shoes, cleats and helmets. Offensive and defensive linemen will also need to bring their shoulder pads. A list of items to bring is available on the camp website at GeorgiaSouthernFootballCamps.com.
Each applicant must provide of a physical exam signed by physician and dated within one year of the camp date and a front and back copy of a current health insurance card. Option U Football camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age grade level and/or gender.
