STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Director of Golf/Men's Golf Coach Larry Mays announced today that Archer Price (Gastonia, N.C./Gaston Day), Jake Storey (Alnwick, England/Duchess Community High School) and Andrew Klasing (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kill/Central Alabama Community College) have all signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Georgia Southern and play for the Eagles, beginning in the 2014-15 season.
"We have signed three outstanding young men who have all achieved great things over the past few years in many different realms of golf, and coach Carter Collins and I are eager to put the Eagle logo on this group next year," said Mays. "Archer is a top-40 recruit in the 2014 class from North Carolina who has excelled at the National level as a junior. Jake brings international experience from the English National Team along with a long list of accomplishments in tournaments in the UK. Andrew has been a top performer at the JUCO level the past year and a half and is ready to perform at the Division I level. All of this experience and talent will pay dividends for our program for years to come."
Price is currently ranked 38th in the country in the 2014 high school class in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and won the North Carolina 2A individual state championship in 2010 and 2013. At age 15, Price became the youngest to win the Men's County Amateur Championship in 2010, and he won the tournament again in 2013, setting a record with the largest margin of victory at 11 strokes (66-73-66=205). Price also won the Future Collegiate World Tour at Duke.
Storey is currently ranked 123rd in the European Golf Ranking and a member of England's National Team. He has represented England four times this year, including at the Boys Home International.
