ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Georgia Southern's Henry Mabbett shot a 79 in the second round of the CACC/WPCC Invitational at Willow Point Country Club Tuesday and finished the tournament tied for eighth.
Kim Koivu carded an 81 and tied for 14th, while Sam Towler shot a 78 and tied for 23rd. Georgia Southern sent the trio to the tournament to play as individuals and gain some extra competitive seasoning on a good course. On a windy day, the average score today was a 79.
"I'm proud of the effort today but when the conditions worsened, we didn't execute the little things as well as we should have," said Georgia Southern associate head coach Carter Collins. "Overall, this week was great opportunity for gaining experience on a tremendous golf course against solid competition. Henry had a solid finish, his second straight top-20."
