Eagles Tie For Eighth in Gary Koch Invitational

Tampa, Fla. - After three rounds, the Georgia Southern golf team placed eighth in the Gary Koch Invitational on Sunday. North Florida won the tournament, going wire to wire for the win. UNF shot 284 in the final round to go to 843 for the tournament (-21). Joey Petronio of North Florida also won individual honors.
Georgia Tech remained in second place for the entirety of the tournament. The Yellow Jackets shot 863 (-1) to finish the weekend. Following Georgia Tech was Auburn who climbed into third (+4) and Alabama placing fourth (+5). Florida State placed fifth (+8), Florida sixth (+10), and Virginia took seventh (+14). Georgia Southern and Pacific tied for eighth (+34), South Florida placed tenth (+36), UNCG placed eleventh (+38) and Wake Forest took 12th (+43). Kentucky took 13th ((+47), College of Charleston came in 14th (+60), and Toledo placed15th (+66).
The Eagles shot a 314 on Sunday, to finish at 898 for the weekend. Blake Olson (Pensacola, Fla.) played a great tournament to lead the Eagles. Olson tied for 15th as he shot 218 (+2) for the tournament.
Scott Wolfes (St. Simons Island, Ga.) tied for 40th after shooting 225 (+9). Will Evans (McDonough, Ga.) tied for 48th as he shot 227 (+11) for the tournament. Hayden Anderson (Knoxville, Tenn.) tied for 58th (+15) and Lewis Gruber (Tallahassee, Fla.) tied for 69th to wrap up the scoring for Georgia Southern.
Playing individually for GSU, Zach Hartman (St. Simons Island, Ga.) tied for 42nd. Hartman shot 226 (+10) on the weekend.
Next for the Eagles is the SoCon Tournament, where the Eagles will look to defend their title. The conference tournament will take place in Charleston, S.C. April 15-17.
