Eagles Finish Tenth in Gator Invite

Gainesville, Fla. – A solid round of golf on Sunday wasn’t enough to bring the Eagles back in the Sun Trust Gator Invitational. GSU finished tenth, shooting 888 and plus 48 in the tournament. Auburn continued their success, taking first for the weekend. The fourth ranked Tigers remained it first after day one, shooting plus eight for the weekend.
Zach Hartman (St. Simons Island, Ga.) led the way for the Eagles the entire weekend, tying for 14th. Hartman shot a 73 in the final round, landing him at plus seven for the tournament. Scott Wolfes (St. Simons Island, Ga.) remained in second for GSU, tying for35th, and shooting plus 13 for the weekend.
Blake Olson (Pensacola, Fla.) tied for 44th, Matt Mierzejewski (Alpharetta, Ga.) tied for 51st and Lewis Gruber (Tallahassee, Fla.) tied for 55th to close out the scoring for the Eagles. The three shot plus 15, plus 16 and plus 18 to finish the tournament.
Hayden Anderson (Knoxville, Tenn.), playing individually, finished at plus 15 and tied for 44th.
The Eagles will be back in action in two weeks, Feb 26-28, when they return to Florida for the John Hayt Invitational in Ponte Vedra.
