STATESBORO, Ga. -- David Beaubien has been named Eagle Fund Executive Director for the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation. The 1996 alum possesses extensive experience in commercial and consumer finance with more than 15 years combined in retail and commercial banking markets. Beaubien presided over Citizens Bank of Bulloch County for the last five years after organizing the opening of the branch in 2006. He will remain on the Citizens Bank Board of Directors.
"We are extremely excited to have David join our staff," said John Mulherin, president of the Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation. "His 15 years of bank experience, the last five as president of Citizens Bank of Bulloch County, will serve him well in his new position. David and the annual campaign team have been charged with doubling annual campaign contributions and donors which will enable us to fully fund student-athlete-scholarships. We have every confidence that they will achieve this important goal."
Prior to joining Citizen's Bank, Beaubien spent five years as the senior vice president of Park Avenue Bank in Statesboro. His responsibilities included the development and management of commercial loan accounts and customer and public relations. Beaubien advised and assisted the PAB loan staff and other lenders in their respective functions. He completed the curriculum and graduated from Georgia Banking School in 2004 while at PAB.
Beaubien joined Wachovia Bank as an assistant vice president following his graduation from Georgia Southern University in 1996. He managed Wachovia's small business and deposit portfolio of $25 million and $60 million, respectively, and promoted the bank's products and services to prospective clients.
Involved with numerous professional and community organizations, Beaubien served as a board member for the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce and was the Chairman of the 2010 local United Way campaign. A member of the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro, Beaubien is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Bulloch and served as treasurer for the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation.
Beaubien and his wife Jill, also a Georgia Southern alum, are the parents of two daughters.
