STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Softball travels North for an afternoon doubleheader with Georgia Tech on Tuesday, March 15th, starting at 3 p.m. The Eagles are fresh off a series win over Appalachian State last weekend. Junior Marie Fogle (Rincon, Ga.) leads the Southern Conference with six home runs and is slugging .684.
The Eagles (10-15, 2-1 SoCon) trail in the all-time series with the Yellow Jackets, 44-12. Georgia Tech (17-4, 0-0 ACC) won both games played last season, but the Eagles split the series, 1-1 in 2009. Georgia Southern Head Coach Maggie Johnson is 1-3 all-time against the Yellow Jackets.

Senior Megen Smith (Springfield, Ga.) leads the team with six doubles and had five home runs to post a .565 slugging percentage. Junior Hanna Ennis (Snellville, Ga.) has raised her batting average over 100 points from last season to hit .327.
The Eagle pitching staff is anchored by two-time defending SoCon Pitcher of the Year Brianna Streetmon (Winder, Ga.). She has a 3.82 ERA facing some of the national top teams, holding them to a .235 batting average while striking out 48. Freshman Allie Miles (Dacula, Ga.) is holding opponents to a .250 batting average with 59 total strikeouts.
Following Tuesday's game, Georgia Southern travels to Western Carolina for a three-game SoCon series against the Catamounts. The 12-9 WCU squad was swept by Furman last weekend to open SoCon play.
