Volleyball Returns Home For a Three-Game Homestand

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Volleyball team (10-9, 3-1) returns home from a 1-1 trip through Charleston to host three-straight games in Hanner Fieldhouse. The Eagles will take on North Florida Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the final non-conference game of the year and Appalachian State on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Eagles opened their tour of Chucktown with a 3-0 victory over The Citadel last Friday night. GSU faced College of Charleston the next day and opened with a first-set victory but eventually fell 3-1 to the defending SoCon South Division Champions.
Bethany Sanford (Avondale, Ariz.) continues to lead the team with 219 kills and is averaging 3.22 kills per set. Meredith Paskert (Brecksville, Ohio) has come on strong of late and is second on the team with 149 kills.
Kate Van Dyke (Shawnee, Kan.) has been setting up the offense all season and has amassed 705 assists. Van Dyke recently passed the 3,000 career assist mark and has 3,087 assists in her career.
Georgia Southern's defense ranks third in the Southern Conference with 16.01 digs per set. It has been a team effort in the back with Lauren LaRocque (Frisco, Texas) leading the charge with 4.01 digs per set. Four other Eagles average over two digs a set and have tallied over 100 digs each.
