JUNIOR (2012): Louisville Slugger TPX Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
SOPHOMORE (2011): Number Two-Ranked Cape Cod League Prospect... Invited to Cape Cod League All-Star Game... SoCon All-Tournament Team and Most Outstanding Player, Walt Nadzak Award... Posted team highs in wins with nine, starts with 19, innings (103.0) and strikeouts (109)... Threw a complete game shutout and struck out nine in the SoCon Championship game against Samford (5-29)... Opened the tournament by striking out a season-high 13 batters against the College of Charleston (5-25)... Earned his first win of the season after an eight inning, 12 strikeout 15-0 shutout ov N.C. Central (2-25)... Won five straight-decisions before his first loss at Western Carolina (4-15)... Started the second game of the Columbia Regional agaisnt N.C. State (6-4), allowing two runs over five innings.
FRESHMAN (2010): Went 2-4 with an 8.31 ERA in 12 appearances... Recorded four starts in the season... Made his career debut on February 19th against Tennessee Tech... Pitched a third of an inning and struck out the one batter he faced... Started against Georgia Tech (2-23), Holy Cross (3-1), Charleston Southern (3-10) and Clemson (3-17)... Pitched five solid innings in a 3-2 loss to Holy Cross, allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five... Allowed only one run in four innings of work in his start against Charleston Southern... Won back-to-back decisions against Jacksonville (4-13) and Samford (4-17)... Pitched a scoreless inning against the Dolphins and picked up his first win in the 6-5 victory.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner in both baseball and basketball at Jefferson High School... Selected in the 35th round by the Cleveland Indians in the 2009 draft... Earned First Team All-Region honors in baseball every year and twice was named 'Pitcher of the Year' in 2008 and 2009... Led the team to consecutive Region 8A Championships... Three-time First Team All-Northeast Georgia and All-Area selection... Was a member of Team Georgia in 2008... Named an All-State Pitcher from 2007-2009... A 2006-07 All-Region selection... Was an All-Northeast and Northeast Georgia Player of the Year... In 2009, was named a North South All-State member.
PERSONAL: Born September 4, 1990 in Commerce, Ga... Most memorable sports moment was reaching the baseball Final Four his sophomore year... His dad has been a major influence for always giving him great advice... Admires high school coach, Tommy Knight, because he looked to him as a father figure... Son of Michael Beck and Hope Atchley.
