Shaw and Monken Earn SouthernPigskin.com Honors After Elon Win

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Georgia Southern junior quarterback Jaybo Shaw (Flowery Branch, Ga.) and Head Coach Jeff Monken earned honors from SouthernPigskin.com after the Eagles defeated 11th-ranked Elon 38-21 at Paulson Stadium Saturday night (September 25).
Shaw was designated the "SoCon X-Factor of the Week" for his efforts in the SoCon win, scoring a career-best two rushing touchdowns and completing eight of 12 passes for 129 yards. Monken earned "SoCon Coach of the Week" after the Eagles recorded 508 yards of offense and limited one of the league's top offenses to only 125 yards in the second half.
