Twenty Georgia Southern Student-Athletes Named Academic All-Conference

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern Volleyball student-athlete Moriah Bellissimo (Blackstone, Va.), one of 11 student-athletes representing the Southern Conference to post a perfect 4.0 grade point average, was honored by the league as a member of its Academic All-Conference team for the 2010 fall season. Student-athletes representing all 12 Southern Conference institutions, including 20 from Georgia Southern, were named to the team.
The 345 honorees participated in football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's cross country and recorded a 3.56 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the fall season and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team's competitions during the fall 2010 campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours in the previous two semesters.
