Georgia Southern Football Season Tickets on Sale Now

STATESBORO, Ga. – Coach Chris Hatcher and the Eagles are preparing for a playoff run this fall and Georgia Southern football fans will want to be a part of the excitement by purchasing season tickets for the 2009 campaign. The five-game home slate begins Sept. 5 with the home opener versus Albany (N.Y.) and includes Southern Conference foes Western Carolina Sept. 19th, Chattanooga Oct. 17th, Furman Nov. 14th and The Citadel Nov. 21st. Football, friends and tradition attract fans to Paulson Stadium to support their Eagles, and season ticket and other options offer the best value for every budget. Great seats are still available in many sections. Choices include seats with bleacher backs, regular bleacher seats and the Subway Family Plan.
For 2009, a season ticket for a bleacher seat with back support is $120 with a regular bleacher seat priced at $115 per season ticket.
The Football Eagles have enjoyed tremendous fan support over the last several years and the 2008 season was one of the best ever in terms of attendance at Paulson Stadium. The average game attendance of 18,168 ranked fifth among Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) programs and placed third on Georgia Southern's all-time attendance list.
Returning for its ninth season, the Subway Family Plan offers all the atmosphere of Paulson Stadium for all five home games in reserved Subway Family Plan sections. With a minimum purchase of three season tickets at $65 each, fans and families alike can enjoy the action in Sections A and G of the South Stands with reserved seating on gameday in those sections. Subway coupons will be mailed with the Subway Family Plan ticket packages. As an added bonus, Subway will provide sandwiches and drinks two hours before each home game at the Subway Family Plan tent.
Georgia Southern faculty and staff members and Georgia Southern parents enjoy a special discount on season ticket purchases with bleacher seats with back support offered at $115 per season ticket and a season ticket for a bleacher seat without back support at $110 per season ticket.
The 2009 schedule is complemented with exciting promotions for each of the home games. The season opener against Albany on Sept. 5 is the designated Junior Eagle Club day as well as Georgia Southern Faculty/Staff Day. Junior Eagle Club members are admitted free for the contest against the Great Danes. Junior Eagle Club members are welcome to play in the Eagle Fun Zone, a special area for kids to enjoy inflatables and games presented by Party Harbour. The Eagle Fun Zone opens three hours before every home game kickoff. Kickoff time for the home opener has yet to be determined.
Georgia Southern faculty and staff members have the opportunity to buy one ticket to the GSU-Albany football game and get one ticket free, making the 2009 home opener a perfect and affordable destination for families for the holiday weekend.
After the Eagles return from an away game at South Dakota State, the Sept. 19th game against Western Carolina opens the Southern Conference season. Georgia Southern welcomes participants for the annual 'Cheerleader for a Day' and 'High School Band Day' promotions for the game against the Catamounts. A fireworks show sponsored by Briggs and Stratton will light up the sky after that game. The Chattanooga game on Oct. 17th will be a highlight of Georgia Southern University's Family Weekend. A full week of activities leads up to Homecoming 2009 and the 'BLUE OUT' scheduled for Furman on Nov. 14th. Military personnel, the 1989 National Championship team and the 2009 seniors will be honored Nov. 21st when The Citadel plays at Paulson Stadium.
Season tickets and the Subway Family Plan are currently on sale. Seating in select Paulson Stadium sections may require a minimum donation to the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation. Season tickets, season ticket renewals and the Subway Family Plan may be purchased by calling GSU-WINS or 1-800-GSU-WINS. Single-game tickets will be released for sale at midnight August 16th on www.GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com. Reserved seat tickets may be limited for some games.
