STATESBORO, Ga. -- The Eagle Football Assistance Association (EFAA) held its second annual Reverse Raffle on April 4, following the afternoon's Spring Game and a full schedule of athletics events. This year's event, held at Bishop Field House, was organized by event chairs Joey (Eagle offensive lineman 1991-94) and Ginger Cushing. Held at Bishop Field House, the event grossed more than $60,000 for the EFAA through the reverse raffle, live and silent auctions.
Former Eagle linebacker (1993-96) and All-American (1996) Lee Brooks won the reverse raffle prize of $10,000. Unique gameday experiences and football team travel opportunities, vintage and rare sports memorabilia and souvenir items autographed by Coach Chris Hatcher and Eagle greats Adrian Peterson, Tracy Ham, Raymond Gross, Greg Hill and J.R. Revere were available for bids.
Proceeds will be used to enhance the Erk Russell Memorial Football Endowment, support athletics and academic scholarships at Georgia Southern University and provide supplemental funding for Eagle Football.
The event traditionally takes place on the same day as the football Spring Game. Tickets for the 2010 EFAA Reverse Raffle will go on sale in early 2010. For more information, please contact Dan O'Dowd, Georgia Southern University Athletics Foundation at 478-5520.
