
National Championship Reunion, Military Appreciation Set for Saturday

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics has plans to honor the Military and celebrate the 1989 and 1999 National Championship teams during this Saturday's (Nov. 21) season finale against The Citadel.
Prior to the game Georgia Southern will also recognize the 2009 senior class playing for the final time in Paulson Stadium.
A special article in the Endzone Gameday program and a video about the honorary captains will make up part of the Military Appreciation Day. The football team will also recognize the armed forces by wearing helmet stickers honoring those serving overseas.

The Eagle Football Assistance Association will host a reunion and tailgate for the 1989 and 1999 National Championship teams. The 20th anniversary (15-0 in 1989) and 10th anniversary (13-2 in 1999) teams will also be recognized at halftime.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Paulson Stadium.
