Women's Soccer Heads for Charleston Sunday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern women's soccer team (0-12-0, 0-5-0) is set to make the short drive to Charleston to face the College of Charleston (8-4-1, 4-1-0) in Sunday SoCon action at 2 p.m.
The Eagles will look to build on their strong second half performance against the Citadel. Sara Oland (Evans, Ga.) scored her first goal of the season and cut the Bulldogs' lead to one goal. Oland took 14 shots with four coming on goal. Georgia Southern's defense stepped and held the Citadel to three shots in the second half.
The Cougars return home to Patriots Point after defeating Davidson 2-0 on the road Thursday.
College of Charleston is led by its defense which allows less than a goal per match and is ranked third in the SoCon with a 0.76 goals against average. Sara Wiggers has started eight matches in net for the Cougars and sports a 0.84 goals against average.
The offense is led by the efficient Annie Pease and Hannah Gmerek. Pease has scored four goals in only five shots. Gmerek leads the team in shots (19) and shots on goal (10).
