Women's Soccer Travels to Davidson for Regular-Season Finale

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern women's soccer team (1-16-0, 1-9-0) heads to Davidson (9-9-1, 6-3-1) for their regular-season finale Saturday at 5 p.m.
The Eagles will face a Wildcat team that is riding a five-game win streak and has posted a 6-3-1 SoCon record. Georgia Southern is coming off a tough 1-0 overtime loss to Chattanooga last Sunday. Jenny Anderson (Birmingham, Ala.) and Michelle Carlson (Melbourne, Fla.) both recorded shots on goal to open the overtime period, but the Mocs tallied the game-winner five minutes into the period for the win.
Chelsea Kephart (Cumming, Ga.) leads the team in shots and shots on goal this season, and Sara Oland (Evans, Ga.) is the leading goal scorer for the Eagles. The offense will face a solid Wildcat defense that sports a 1.61 goals against average. Davidson has used two keepers in net this season. Loring Ward has recorded the better GAA and has a 5-4 record in net.
The Wildcat's offense is led by Kyri Bye-Nagel. Bye-Nagel has made 19 starts and leads the team in shots, goals and assists. Carlson, Caroline Scales (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and the rest of the Eagles' defense will be tasked with stopping an offense that averages 1.58 goals a game.
